Providing some guidelines and instructions to students regarding oral and dental health
In the health and educational domain, the association collaborated with Raad Dental Clinic to distribute toothbrushes and toothpaste to the students. Additionally, Dr. Hossam Khair al-Din provided some guidelines and instructions to the students regarding oral and dental health.
- Brush your teeth twice a day: Make sure to brush your teeth in the morning and before going to bed. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
- Proper brushing technique: Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle against your gums. Gently move the brush back and forth in short, circular motions. Don’t forget to brush the outer and inner surfaces of your teeth, as well as your tongue.
- Floss regularly: Use dental floss or interdental cleaners to clean between your teeth and remove plaque and food particles. This helps prevent cavities and gum disease.
- Limit sugary foods and drinks: Reduce your intake of sugary snacks, candies, and beverages. The sugars can contribute to tooth decay. Opt for healthier alternatives like fruits, vegetables, and water.
- Visit the dentist regularly: Schedule regular check-ups with your dentist for professional cleanings and examinations. This helps detect any dental issues early on and ensures your oral health is in good condition.
- Wear a mouthguard during sports: If you participate in sports or activities with a risk of dental injury, wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth and mouth from potential harm.
- Avoid smoking and tobacco use: Smoking and using tobacco products can lead to oral health problems, including gum disease and oral cancer. It’s best to avoid them altogether.
- Maintain a balanced diet: Eat a nutritious diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. A healthy diet contributes to overall oral and systemic health.
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water helps rinse away bacteria and keeps your mouth moist, reducing the risk of cavities and bad breath.
- Practice good oral hygiene habits consistently: Remember, maintaining good oral health is a lifelong commitment. By following these guidelines and establishing regular oral hygiene habits, you can keep your mouth and teeth healthy.
